Professional Conduct Committee

The Professional Conduct Committee is made up of at least five registered nurses or nurse practitioners who are members of CANNN. Members of the public also sit on the committee.

The Board of Directors of CANNN designate one member of the committee to act as Chairperson and one member to act as Deputy Chairperson. This designation is for a three-year period.

The Professional Conduct Committee determines whether the allegations against a nurse are proven true and if so, whether the proof amounts to a finding of misconduct, incompetence, incapacity and/or conduct unbecoming the profession.

Complaints where the allegations are proven true may be resolved through alternate dispute resolution or before a board of inquiry.
