The RNANT/NU is responsible under the Nursing Professional Act of the NWT and the Nursing Profession Act of NU to regulate registered nursing practice in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Section 20(1) of the Nursing Profession Act requires the Registrar to maintain Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Registers.
The Registration Verification Tool provides the names and registration numbers of members who currently hold Active-Practicing Memberships and are entitled to practice (RNs, NPs and temporary certificate holders). If a nurse is not currently registered with the RNANT/NU, they will not be listed in the search results.
Section 61 of the Nursing Profession Act notes, the RNANT/NU must maintain a public register of decisions and orders made by Boards of Inquiry and Appeal Committees. If you have an inquiry about a nurse listed in the Public Registry, please contact the Registration Coordinator.
Our membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st. If the registration expiry date listed below is December 31st, 2017, the indivudual is licensed to practice as an Active-Practicing Member effective January 1st, 2017.
- Search each individual by first name, last name or registration number.
- The filter system does not require that you input an individual’s name or registration number but it will yield better results.
